Please join us as we welcome Sherita Thomas, interim Director of the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s Office of Black Catholics, for an engaging and interactive session to inform us and discuss where the Catholic Church and the Archdiocese are with respect to fighting racism.

11:00 am – 2:30 pm at WLIFC

Ms. Thomas will provide highlights of the Church’s current position, historical teachings, and updates the Archdiocese’s recent effort to address our concern regarding systemic racism. St. John’s activities will also be discussed. Participants will engage in conversations about St. John’s next steps.

Snacks and lunch will be provided. All Are Welcome!!

The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that “Every form of social or cultural discrimination in fundamental personal rights on the grounds of sex, race, color, social conditions, language, or religion must be curbed and eradicated as incompatible with God’s design.”

Did You Know?

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day and Jubilee Day, honors the anniversary of June 19, 1865, the day enslaved people in Texas learned they were free.
