Fr. Ambrose Onwuegbuchulem is a Priest of the Catholic Diocese of Port Harcourt in Nigeria. He was ordained a Catholic Priest on December 3, 2011 and had his seminary formation at St Joseph Major Seminary, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
Fr. Ambrose holds a licentiate in Clinical Psychology from the Pontifical Gregorian University Rome. He is an extern priest for the Archdiocese of Baltimore and has served since August 2020 as the PriestChaplain at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Downtown Campus, Baltimore.
Fr. Ambrose is the first child of five children and speaks Igbo, English and Italian fluently. He is a teacher, formator and spiritual director and takes delight in faith formation and the ministry of the word.
Part of his ministry is the spiritual welfare of the Our Lady’s Center in Ellicott City, where he celebrates Masses and the sacrament of reconciliation. Fr. Ambrose is a member of the Board of Directors of Our Lady’s Center and currently holds the position of the Spiritual Director of the group.
Fr. Ambrose has been assigned as Associate Pastor of St. John the Evangelist in Columbia. He will begin his new assignment on February 1, 2023.
